Spring Breaking in Sunriver

Jake and I have been itching for a vacation, and Sunriver delivered! It's not an understatement when I say that we L-O-V-E this place. I was in Bend last month for a work retreat, we just spent the past 4 days in the Sunriver/Bend area, and we're renting a house in Bend with my side of the fam for a family vacation in late July--and there's no way we'll be sick of it. Initially, we had planned to go to San Diego for spring break, but the upcoming visit from the in-laws in April (yay!) made that seem silly, so we changed our SD travel plans to late May/early June to celebrate our nephew's first birthday. Don't get me wrong, we love visiting San Diego and catching up with friends and loved ones, but it's simply not restful (not that we ever expect it to be). And Sunriver was nothing short of relaxing. We spent everyday getting in long walks, soaking up some sunshine, hitting up tasting rooms, and capping the night off in the jacuzzi. What's not to like?

In case you're interested, I've listed all of the beers we tried below. You'll see a pattern--Jake likes IPAs and I'm a huge fan of porters, but there are a few exceptions where we branched out a bit. Deschutes is our favorite brewery, and we never miss it when we're in town. The standouts have an asterisk next to them (one for my faves, two for Jake's). We still didn't get everywhere we'd like to go, but that's what our next trip is for ;). Cheers!
